  • Tastes like all Cayuse wine, without much varietal influence. S says its popularity is ‘the emperor’s new clothes’. I agree. Y’all can have my Horsepower and No Girls.

  • First bottle tasted of this vintage. Definitely different from their syrahs. The color is lighter, more ruby, some translucency. There is an acetic aroma and a combination of red and black fruits both in the aromas and on the palate. A touch of bitterness at first but faded after a few hours. It was just as good the next night but was gone on the third. Best to drink soon.

  • Maybe an off bottle but I didn’t love it. It did get a little better second day.

  • This is a WOW! Wine! Almost sneaky in its drinkability, it’s tempting to just gulp this beauty. But when you stop to savor, there is a TON of flavor going on here. The nose is simply intoxicating, with fruit, spice, smoke, flowers, more spice, and minerals. Medium bodies with strawberry and plum, a touch of white pepper, flowers and more smoke. But primarily it is soft, elegant, complex, seamless and hugely pleasurable. A delight!

  • Color/App: very Pinot Noir in appearance -- translucent, light ruby core -> light, diffuse ruby rim. This took about 90 minutes to knit itself together though the bouquet was there right out of the gate. Red fruit forward nose of strawberries and raspberries but with a lot of old-world elements like green olives, brine, sage and marjoram. Savoury palate of red fruits and earth and spice with a touch of bitters and smoke. Long, long finish that showed good acidity and no alcoholic burn (13.4%). Very similar to its stablemate, God Only Knows, but perhaps just a length behind in this vintage. 92-93.
