Velvet. Dark fruits. Integrated tannins. Elegance. The open, mid, and finish are elegant, long-lasting, beautiful. It is still a bit hot on open and could benefit from more time in the bottle. In every tasting we've had at Checkerboard, the Coyote stood out. It's something about the vineyard being at the fog line. Blend of cool and hot climes that really bring out the best of Cab in this bottle.
C'est une fantastique bouteille de vin.

Huge wine on opening with race fuel fumes blasting you in the face. Deep and dark and sultry. This was a brooding tightly wound beast that needed to breath before relaxing. With just a small amount of air the dark fruits took center stage of this gorgeous mountain cab. Full bodied and deep with good acidity and soft but present tannins. This has the brute strength to go for a while but if you like your wine with some bite this is ready to go.
