60% Zin, 35% Petite Sirah, the rest Carignane and Mataro. Cork broke on opening but this is in excellent shape. Not surprisingly at age 24, this shows the PS character more than the zin, with masses of smoky, meaty deep black fruit. But the blend avoids the monolithic brutality of a lot of PS; the zin gives it a lighter, juicier brightness, and while there's plenty of tannin still it's comfortably in balance. Delicious stuff. I paid $30 for this a few weeks ago, brilliant QPR.

Delicious. Stored perfectly since release. Even better the second night. Zero expectations, spectacular surprise. Fruit still there. Petite Sirah the backbone that held this all together the last 19 years.

Dark brown/red, a little lighter at the edges. Nose of cherries, oak, alcohol, and some spice. On the palate, medium mouthfeel, with flavors of cherries, spice, and a little leather, with a focused, grippy, chocolatey finish. Very nice!

Tasting. Black fruit with good spice. Subtle and well balanced vs. my expectations.

Cherry nose, very well-bal, long finish. Black/strawberry, slight heat on finish. Very fruity, light acid.
