On the nose, medium-pronounced aromas of black fruits - blackberry, black plum, with a hint of cedar. Dry, full body, prominent tannnins that are smooth, not harsh. High alcohol, medium acidity, medium long finish. Drinking well, but can benefit from more time in the bottle.

Decanted for 6 hours then consumed over the next three. Such an interesting wine. I believe this was the year when Paso unknowingly mislabeled bottles as Monestrell which serendipitously turned out to be Graciano. It has a strong supporting role in this concoction which also includes Viognier at an eye-catching 10%. And it all works in a dazzling way largely due to such competent and creative crafting. I cannot remember tasting anything like it. Presently, there is a slight imposition of tannin at the finish, but in a year or two, for me, this should approach perfection.
WWC - JL (FWC): Tasted blind- Deep dark purple in the glass. Lots of blue and black fruit on the nose and palate, specifically blackberry and blueberry. High viscosity and tasted a bit hot. Some Slight sediment. I guessed a Syrah. I think this wine has a good bit of life left.

Drinking very nicely. Show some age but still fresh. strong Syrah varietal flavor notes. Aired for 2 hours.
