Lots of funk on the nose. Olive brine, cranberry, raw meat…it’s all there .
Palate needed more time than we gave it (30 minutes in glass before we tried it). Tight, a little prickly and youthful still . Evolving slowly and best glass was the last .Wait 5 more years to the next one.

Gave this about 30 mins of air. no decant. Upon pouring this was immediately singing on the nose, loads of smoke, meaty, bacon and blackberry. The nose is absolutely captivating. Palate is sweet and well balanced with lots of dark cherry and blackberry fruit, acidity not very high and the tannins are pretty smoothed out. This seems like it is absolutely at peak (which is good I've got no more). Lovely long finish as well. Overall, really excellent.

Ordered direct from winery & cellared since. PNP, no decant. A beast upon opening. Black, smokey, heavy fruit upon opening. Beautiful & captivating nose....smoke, spice, floral, dark fruit. As the wine evolved, it became more of a saline/iodine profile, but the dark fruit was still present. Tannins very sweet & smooth. Wine can age for 5+.

Freshest of all of the WA syrahs to date. Hints of blue fruit complemented by ripe black olive tapenade. As it unfolds, the savory notes take the slightest of rights toward the long road paved with fresh roasted coffee beans that finishes with beautiful aromas of cacao. Throughout the various phases of the bottle, blueberry and darker red fruit jam continued to percolate. Thankful to have grabbed the last bottle at the store. Feels to be at the early quarter of its drinking window. Paired at home with a MEAN steak chili (we added beans, much to Lady Bird Johnson’s chagrin).
