Popped and the wife poured for herself. I was busy consuming the remnants from yesterday's (slightly disappointing) wine. She pretended like nothing interesting was going on. "Go ahead, finish yesterday's wine, I'm fine over here." Well.
Wine has some subtle bricking under the crimson. Fairly clear and bright. Only moderately concentrated.
On nose, man oh man. Very aromatic. Tobacco, cherries, dried cranberries, smoke (in a good way), stewed strawberries. With a baking spice backbone underneath.
On palate, wine is sound. Really sound. Definitely has the first hints of some tertiary flavors from age, but a solid acid backbone to support. I would argue there's a tiny touch of residual sugar but it may be pseudosweetness from the fruit. And there's almost a little bit of that stone fruit vibe I get from gewurtz. Yes, it's weird.
Wow. This is a very serious and very good wine. I am going to pry it out of my wife's hands.

If I’m honest I was expecting more. It was good but I feel it could use a little more time to be it’s best

Awesome Pinot. Perfect time to drink it. Fruit still very bright, finished great. Heavier than other Failla vineyards.
