  • Wow, I was just impressed about myself and how patient I have been about this wine. I wrote that I should wait several years and it‘s my first bottle since 2016. This is really starting to open up. Beautiful healthy deep ruby/garnet color without many signs of age. There is a really beautiful perfume of dark and dark red cherries, some just ripe plum, tobacco, graphite, cedar wood, a touch of smoke, the oak has integrated nicely, some herbal notes too of savory herbs. It‘s medium-full bodied, with superb mid-palate persistence, some pretty high acidity and some medium-high tannin that is excellent quality. This feels decidedly cooler than some of the hot vintages, and I like this even more. Long finish with complexity that is building up. This seems just at the beginning of its drinking window and will have many years ahead. Wow this is good. (96+)

  • Fantastic bouquet of forest berries, ripe and fresh ones as well as jam, wild mint, undergrowth. First night very tannic, not ready at all, but second night a room temperature fantastic drink, balanced palate, sweet berries, nice freshness, finely grained sweet tannins leading to a long finish. A wine of great quality too early to drink unless with a long decant.

  • Tight at open. Needed an hour after a double decant. Opened up to excellent fruit and depth. Very nice bottle now, should improve with further time.

  • dusty cherries, still bright fruit, oak influence has been nicely integrated. finish is long filled with roses. smooth and elegant, one of the most beautiful sangiovese. still nice amount of tannins, will go fine but finish within 10 years.

  • A decent showing, still that razor like acidity and sour cherry note run through the powerful fruit. Age has settled this but it does seem in an inbetween phase, with secondary notes not yet developed enough to be truly interesting. Try again in 3 years.
