Re-upping my prior note. This is big on honeysuckle, white pepper, sweet tropical fruits and fennel. Previously I said late 2017-late 2018 would be ideal but it's developed quicker than I anticipated. Still benefits from 30+ minute decant but I'm not sure it needs more time on its side. Quite good.

Seductively harmonious bouquet of white peach, spring flowers, and carambola. Suave and elegant texture, like a still mountain lake at dawn. Layered finish of very good length.

Nose: mildly aromatic with vanilla and lemon custards, spruce, fennel, wet asphalt and pine. Palate: medium body, creamy and just a touch sweet with a really nice amount of acidity that keeps it from becoming cloying. Big lemon, vanilla, honey suckle and white pepper. Straw and nice streaks of lime stone and slate. With extended air time a nervous tension emerges that tickles the palate and demands attention. Finish: it stays really bright and creamy, and petrol joins the party. Overall a really, really nice viognier with a welcome dose of bright acidity that ensures the multiple layers of this wine come through. Biggest fault is that the really interesting aroma profile doesn't have a bigger presence. The tension and soft nose suggest this might be better in another 6-12 months and then offer another one to two years of prime drinking. 91 now, soon to be 92-93.
