I never appreciated this wine and over the years donated my allocation to charity auctions as I could not drink it. Duped by Parker into buying it. Found an old bottle I missed. Laura wanted a Zin, I wanted Port so I though try this. I got my port like wine, but a $30 port is better. I wonder how they make it today? Who buys it? I have old Ridge zins that blow away anything Martinelli did.

Popped and poured; followed over ninety minutes with a meal. A beautiful iteration of Zinfandel; the 17% abv not prominent. Powerful and silky wine, with concentrated raspberry flavors. Delicious. Drink now.

Damn this was good for a 12yr old high Alc. Zin (the Alc. was so in check and not noticeable). I'm copying "sastewart" note as it was spot on. "Great wine, beautiful nose of plum and spice. Great balance with a perfect blend of spices, plum, raspberry and a touch of pepper. No heat just plush and balanced." I still drink 1-2 Zins a month... only difference in my note.

What a great wine, one of my wife's favorite varietals and producers we brought this to dinner at Michael's on East in Sarasota. We decanted for only a few minutes before drinking but the wine continued to open up and reveal more layers over 1.5 hours. Nose of red fruits cherry and strawberry, dusted with mocha espresso. I thought the palate started a little "hot" but this seemed to blow off after about 30 minutes revealing sweet strawberry compote and a hint of mocha and a long 45-60 second finish. My last bottle and will be missed!
