Impressive for the vintage. Not so "newworldish" as one could expect. Full-bodied, with polished and well integrated tanins, creamy texture with a level of acidity that brings tension and sharpness. Very good balanced. The wine is still under influence of the oak (caramel, coffee, smokiness) very noticeable on the nose). Even not the most impressive vintage for Grange it has a long future ahead.

The usually always amazing Grange didn’t impress with this vintage- thin, minimal fruit, didn’t materially improve over 6-8 hours, etc. Dumb phase or flawed?

A very good surprise in this somewhat modest vintage. It is full bodied, very nicely balanced, has velvety tanins and has a lovely mouthfeel. It is long and harmonious. The wood influence is quite obvious, but it is very well integrated and give the wine an enjoyable toastiness which is balanced by its acidity. Given the fact the wine was even better on the following day (back in bottle from the decanter after dinner) I believe it will age well for a further 5/10 years. But it is already delicious after 3 hours in a decanter.

Not the best penfold grange I have tried but still fairly enjoyable. Can’t stop sipping
Cocoa, liqourice, blackberry, plums , a bit leathery ok complexity
Less fruity as I thought, more herbs. Lovely tannings, firm structure, full bodied , long finish. more acidity than I remembered for a la grange
