1996 Rhone and Burgundy (Bronte): deep gold colour, excellent acidity, fine persistent mousse, aged white wine characters, very drinkable and interesting

La Tache and '96 Champagne (Atlanta): From mag. Good balance. Very drinkable. Lots of balance between the fruit with a touch of sweetness and acid backbone. Drink or hold.

Bright golden colour, as if getting one prepared to what is next to come. A fumy start on the nose with a cascade of lemon peel, lemon curd and grapefruit aromas joining the scene. Elegant with a crystalline texture, vigourous citrus fruit and steely minerality all across the palate. Great precision with a long, mouth-watering finish.

Not my cup of tea. Bright lemon acidity but tons of dosage that just leaves you with a candied lemon and not much else. Some yeasty character, but no tertiary flavors yet, that I can pick up anyway.
