  • Popped and poured straight from the cellar. Served at about 60 F. Still a rich ruby color. Bacon fat and eucalyptus on the nose, with red fruits and a hint of peat. Palate much bigger than the nose might lead you to believe. Intense black cherry fruit on the palate, with leather, sun-dried tomato and spice notes. Acidity has completely integrated at this point. Initially velvety, the tannins evolved into a silky and coating texture. Long finish. Age really helped this wine.

  • Color is dark, very rich with no aging on the edges. Nose of blackberry with hints of leather and both red & black licorice. Tannins have mellowed somewhere between medium to low with easy acid. Flavors hit mostly front to mid palate with little on the back. Flavors showed the red licorice from the nose and immediately after hit deep, dark fruits like currant, boysenberry & blackberry. The finish was quite long and luxurious. This is a bold, powerful wine so if you are looking for a jammy California fruit bomb go elsewhere.

Had along side a 2009 Krupp Brothers Veraison & 2007 William Hill Napa Cabernet with smoked Tri-Tip and Chimichurri. Although I GREATLY enjoyed both, I found the Krupp Brothers to be more opulent and rich and more in line with my palate.

  • Wow!!! Smooth and rich and concentrated...multi-layered...delicious!
Longue finale. Un vin charmeur...boire dès maintenant. 94+
