  Opened with rack of lamb, this excellent pinot pours a deep red, with smoky notes of soy, dark cherry and plum. Toasty notes melt over the smooth, lush palate, with delightful fruit. Medium to full body, but not too big. Day two + under vac-u-vin, this has darkened and molted into a brooding plum stew with charcoal and sweet molasses notes. A nice showing.

  PnP. More aromatic than 2 years ago with loads of cherry, strawberry, and forest floor. Palate is soft and round with evident fruit intensity, low acidity and soft tannins. Slight heat. Not much finesse or intensity. Very lush, beautiful fruit flavors, but no mineral spine.

Lots of black cherry fruit, flowers, spice, and excellent acidity. Long finish that shows just a touch of heat. Really nice wine. I prefer it to the 2003. B+/A-
