Anderson's 2012 Right Bank offering is a blend of 67% Cabernet Franc and 33% Merlot. Purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this bottle was decanted off of its heavy sediment and serially tasted over a four-hour period. Deep ruby/red in color, it serves up an intense bouquet of morello cherries, dark bramble fruits, melted licorice, bittersweet chocolate, pipe tobacco and lavender. Full-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (14.9%) and with well-integrated wood, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose, adding a savory herbal component. At this stage the tannins remain plentiful but powdery in texture, resulting in a fleshy wine with no rough edges. The middle palate is layered and dense, leading to a finish that lingers nicely. This hedonistic homage to Bordeaux's Right Bank is an absolute joy to drink. The fruit and structure are in place to ensure that comparably cellared bottles will easily reach their twenty-fifth birthday. If you choose to pop the cork at this stage, give it a couple of hours in decanter for maximal enjoyment. Drink now-2037.

Nose is floral and perfumed, with ripe clean dark fruits and fresh soil and light notes of anise. Really wonderful mouth feel, deep bodied and concentrated and full smoothed and balanced. This wine is just in a perfect spot for drinking right now, very fine and silky and slightly viscous in the best way.

Had a glass first night then finished next night. The overnight ox was great, settled the fruit a bit and let some secondary flavors emerge. Great value.

Napa does Saint Emilion - and nails it! Very pretty on the nose, with scents of earth, baking spices and crushed dark fruits. Full-bodied and plush in texture, but not at all overdone. There's wonderful depth to the ripe, delicious plum, blueberry and dark currant fruit here, with attractive hints of vanilla and spice. Finishes very long with notes of cedar and graphite. The silky smooth tannins linger gently. Very balanced and harmonious. Could easily pass for a very good St. Emilion made in the modern style. 50+5+13+17+7=92

A nose of dark fruit and spices, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red with black cherry, blackberry, licorice and spices on long finish, short decant, a good wine. www.winelx.com
