  • Has mellowed nicely...still nice dark berries...very little tannin. i dont know if it will get any better.

  • When first tasted the alcohol and dusty tannins predominated, but after an hour in the decanter everything came together. Color and aroma matched up perfectly on this one: dark cherry. A big wine--bigger than expected-- that is not fading; lots of dark cherry, dark fruits and spice through the finish. My only complaint is a shortfall of lighter fruits on the attack, but that may be more of a matter of personal preference. It also may relate to how this bottle was handled before I got it. The cork was pushed in and was a spinner.

14.5% but balanced anyhow. Served with roasted chicken (have I mentioned how much I admire Wade Boggs' culinary tastes?) . Drinking well and good for at least 2-3 more years.

Off topic--if you haven't yet, drop over to the Wine Lover's Page and you can grab some nice BDX while helping out those stranded in NOLA.

  • Tasting Some Young US Wine (Chicago IL): Tasting. Fruit forward red cherry throughout. Pleasant and simple, but very easy to enjoy on its own or with a meal.
