When first tasted the alcohol and dusty tannins predominated, but after an hour in the decanter everything came together. Color and aroma matched up perfectly on this one: dark cherry. A big wine--bigger than expected-- that is not fading; lots of dark cherry, dark fruits and spice through the finish. My only complaint is a shortfall of lighter fruits on the attack, but that may be more of a matter of personal preference. It also may relate to how this bottle was handled before I got it. The cork was pushed in and was a spinner.
14.5% but balanced anyhow. Served with roasted chicken (have I mentioned how much I admire Wade Boggs' culinary tastes?) . Drinking well and good for at least 2-3 more years.
Off topic--if you haven't yet, drop over to the Wine Lover's Page and you can grab some nice BDX while helping out those stranded in NOLA.

Tasting Some Young US Wine (Chicago IL): Tasting. Fruit forward red cherry throughout. Pleasant and simple, but very easy to enjoy on its own or with a meal.
