  Medium reddish garnet in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & raspberries with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, cocoa/coffee spices, leather, anise, tobacco, minerals & hints of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, mature, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & plums with mushrooms, chocolate, coffee, spices & minerals. Smooth lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but at 25 years of age, it is close to or at its peak. I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging, so drink up! Cork was clean & intact with the fill at lower neck well above the shoulder.

  Had this after decanting for 6 hours. Still the wine is slightly closed. Aromas are graphite and chocolate. Flavors are muted but reveal prune, some raisin, with lingering flavors of tea and ash. Quite tannic still and fruits are very muted. Better than last showing but still not what this wine once was.

  A fading display of a wine with dominant flavors over ripened plum and some over ripened strawberry. Finish is medium length and the wine seems to have an acidic quality in the finish.

  Bright red fruit (cherry, slight raspberry), nice spice, tobacco, slight leather, great acidity. Some tannins. Lingering finish. Pretty open. Best bottle of this yet.
