Festival of Phil (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas are meaty, savoury, black hued fruits - blackberry over plum that is concentrated and a little closed & reticent with an earthy underpin. Juicy, savoury, concentrated, chewy tannins are integrated with the black fruits. Balanced. Showing considerably younger than its years. Very good indeed

Elegant, pure and understated. Has a core of delicious raspberry fruit. There are light florals, some black pepper and a touch of baked earth. it has a hint of leathery development and tannins are relaxed yet supportive. Excellent balance and detail and a joy to drink.

After pouring away a number of oxidised bottles (bought at auction) this is great. Dark colour. Classic Victorian rich spicy shiraz. Added acid is a (small) part of the flavour but it has receded into the background.
May your bottles be so good. Corks - can't trust them!
Drink now.
14% ABV.

Enjoyable mature wine. Quite rich and warm, some depth that suggests this isn't going to fall over quickly. Some complexity of age, but overall it lacks something special, not particularly characterful. Perhaps the next bottle will be more expressive. Otherwise for now I'd sum it up as enjoyable, a nice foil to younger wines, but not exciting.
Sealed with cork. 14% ABV

Another excellent bottle (my last). Fuller bodied than I recalled. Soft, complex and delicious.
Drink immediately.
