I know it's rounded the bend a bit but L'Av is such a wine of great structure it still is holding its own with loads of dark fruit and cherry. Has taken on a tawny tint or any musty tinge. Enjoyed with some home made ravioli and it was very enjoyable. I recommend this winery as a must stop to anyone passing through Paso. I loved the old 'hanger" tasting set up but the new room is very nice and the staff is very accommodating.

This 2000 L'Aventure Optimus is definitely past its prime but still drinkable. Note that it has been approximately three years since the last person posted on this vintage. Cellar tracker shows that 92 bottles are still in people cellars, I would suggest that one find something great to eat with this. Upon opening the forward fruit of the wine had faded. Hoping in an hour after decanting that the black cherry taste opens up even more. Serving with a prime rib eye steak.

Black cherry, fig, and menthol on this concentrated nose. Dusty tannins. Super smooth texture, with a little peper on the finish. Burnt orange around the edges, and a bit cloudy (unfiltered).

Very interesting flavors from this unordinary blend of Cab, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Zinfandel. I got what I think was fig from the well aged cab, and a little pepper on the finish from the syrah. There was no heat at all, and this drank very smoothly. Burnt orange around the edges, and a bit cloudy. Probably a year or two past peak, but it is still enjoyable.
