Seņa 100 Points Celebration Tasting (Tokyo): According to Eduardo Chadwick this was a very hot year, with less water melting down from the Andes and resulting in small berries, low yields and concentrated juice. Darker than the first two wines (blackberry, black cherry, slightly dried) followed by black pepper, coffee, chocolate, mint and licorice. Lower in acidity than the first two wines, but still ok, with grippy tannins and full body.
Savoriness contributes to the balance, but I find it a bit too warm and dark.

bright red intense color with discreet signs of maturation, demonstrating that still has some potential to guard. earthy aromas and spices, prune and unobtrusive vanilla. very sharp acidity, showing imbalance. on the palate, good body, powerful tannins. After some time open the aromas were hardly noticeable, however, was still the most attractive body, structure and tannins and acidity too. short final. but it did not disappoint me.

These wines are very consistent vintage to vintage. Medium ruby red color. Starting to lighten along the edges. The nose has the tell tail that typify Chilean wines for me. A unique green note, almost a bit vegetal but at the same time ripe. Almost some petroleum notes, but not in a bad way. Tannins are ripe and suave. Medium finish.

This was clearly once a very good wine - it has power, and very smooth tanins and depth, but it has lost its fruit - I only bought this bottle a few months ago, so this may be due to faulty storage. Sad.
