Powerful dark black and blue fruit jammy aromatics and heavy extraction, this was overpowering upon opening which had me concerned but it went through a big transformation with air. It kept improving over several hours with Chocolate notes, smoke and even a little dark red fruits emerging. Overall the fruit jammy disposition subsided and more structure and mineral emerged, while it was still a bit reminiscent of a port and it became enjoyable.Definitely give this a serious decant.

There must be some bottle variation as this one in particular is much better than ones we have had in the past. It is RICH and velvety in the mouth; exceptional flavors of oak, vanilla and brambly fruit are abundant on the palate and there is a long fruit finish. After being open for 30 minutes, lush notes of tabacco add fireworks!

This is huge full bodied, deep dark inky color. Almost overpowering forward over ripe black berry, raisin, blue berry fruits, hints of caramel, vanilla, glycerin and cedar. Firm, full chewy unctuous tongue coating tannins that reveal more blueberry, vanilla, mocha on a long alcohol finish. Begs for bar-b-que or like food.
At fifteen years of age this is starting to show a bit of heat from the alcohol as this starts to wane and pass its prime drinking window.
