Double decanted. Mostly closed nose with dark plum and tobacco leaf. Dark fruited, earthy palate. A bit more evolved than the Colgin Tychson Hill from same year, tasted side by side. Lack the Colgin’s depth and length.

Decanted briefly. Silky, crowd-pleasing high-end Napa Cab (9% Merlot) with ripe black and red fruit and fine tannins. Drank after a corked bottle so my palate wasn't in the best shape for nuance.

pnp.....then slow ox'd over 1-2 hours before, the group enjoyed it over 5 hours at the table......garnet in the glass, nose of dried plums, maybe stewed, the first 30 min, medium weight in the mouth, lots of savory, earthy components. Mushrooms, acidity well placed but notes from the wine, indicate it drank a hair older than an '09. Less fresh, maybe? It was extremely entertaining to follow this one along with the '09 Bettina jockeying back and forth through the evening.

Ready to drink - this is why I like Cardinale . Full bodied well structured intense dress blue and red fruit - a little spice on back end.
