  • Severe VA. Others thought it was okay, but I found it undrinkable.

  • Mature lightening ruby color. Unfiltered texture. Very complex: radish/chapstick, some herbs, mellow ripe fruit. Slightly bitter edge, spicy, but well played in the ripe context. Tannin is alive and well, almost no alcoholic heat, just a touch in the very long finish. Drink soon.

  • Medium garnet. Black cherry, plum, leather, pepper and licorice. Still tannic with mid acidity. Long spicy finish.

  • Color is turning brownish; some slightly oxidized sweet kirsch liqueur fruit, a bit of plum wine flavors, just a tiny hint of brett, but in this case it is not dominating the wine but just adds a touch of earth, leather and wet fur. Overall quite elegant and restrained with a mineral core and good acdity, nice sweet&sour character, quite a nice Chateauneuf, especially considering its age, but probably time to drink. - 90 points

  • A nice surprise. The wine offered crushed stones, red and black fruit, blackberry, herbs, rosemary, lots of spices, anise and some chocolate on the palate, with just enough acidity, well-integrated tannin and very good length. The alcohol came through a little, but did not disturb. 14.5% ABV and 100% Grenache, but the wine did not show any signs of that burned, raisiny over ripeness that puts me off in many Grenache. To the contrary, the wine was well-structured and reasonably balanced and I liked it quite a bit. Would buy again. In a good place now, but no need to hurry.

NB: More raisiny but still pleasant on day two.
