Dark garnet color. Still young. Dark cherries, mouthwatering acidity, earthy, with some anise on the finish. Seems a bit hot for a low alcohol wine. Plenty of fruit. Tannins present. Drinks like a young Cabernet from the 80s. Mellows after five hours in a decanter. Still needs time in the cellar. Try again in 2027-2030.

Tasted alongside the Torre Merlot of the same year (thanks coravin!). More eucalyptus/American oak/ridge signature but also a bit more lift and brightness. Clearly from the same family.

P&P - Beautiful color, dark Gemstone feel. Sweet Jesus, that telltale Ridge nose. I could drink that nose all day. Eucalyptus, miny, sharp fruit, green note. Hard to describe everything going on w the nose. Just amazing. The acid and tannins as usual for a youthful Ridge, there, striking, yummy & a great food wine.
Day III - Been vacuumed & fridged. Seems darker looking? Nose is a muted compared to that orgasmic P&P Day I. Now the weight is here in the palate, its richer, fuller on the palate, the green notes of stems etc is gone, its more olives now. Balanced, oh so balanced. Bright fruit on the finish, youthful. Lingering. Damn, wish I had more, but thankful I have way way too much MB.

Tasted at Jason Kallsen's Ridge vertical evening. The Klein was really nice, about even with the Monte Bello.
