  • Dark purplish-red color. Medium bodied. Bacon, smoke, and black fruits. Rather simple and coarse; "high pitched" from an earlier review seems very apt. It is a good food wine, but not a great wine overall. Considering the price ($11-12) this should not be surprising; it is still a good value.

  • Good earthy red. Nice nose with a dry finish. Great food wine.

  • 13.5% alcohol. Red cherry color. This is a really pretty, aromatic wine. Lovely aromas of red berry, violets, leather, and lovely earth. In the mouth, fruity and forward, with great purity and balance. While the fruit is the star, this wine has impressive layers of floral, earth, and leather notes. Bright acidity and a lovely, lightly tannic finish. Well done. A-

  • Not my favorite. The good news is that it is 100% Montepulciano fermented entirely in steel, so there's no oak and no other obtrusive flavors. The bad news is that the fruit seems slightly high pitched, ultra-dry, and it seems ever so slightly underripe. Fairly simple wine that is stereotypical for inexpensive Italian tablewine. Next time, I'll try the single-vineyard cuvee that sees some oak. I unfortunately can't recommend this wine.
