  The ‘Verus’ winery, a newcomer to the Slovenian wine scene (founded in 2007, 10 hectares), produces beautiful white wines, grown on the slopes of the Jeruzalem-Ormož hills (north-eastern part of Slovenia, bordering Hungary and Croatia). Bright pale yellow color with a green hue and a brilliant luminosity. Incredible explosive nose that soars from the glass with aromas of white peaches, green apples, nettles, freshly cut grass, grapefruit and a hint of rhubarb. Crisp and elegant on the palate, plenty of vibrant gooseberry and passion fruit, supported by a refreshing acidity and an effervescent minerality. Good depth and a sustained finish with attractive herbal nuances. An excellent partner for asparagus dishes. A very pleasant surprise and a great QPR. Drink it now through 2013.
  
  Het wijngoed 'Verus' – een nieuwkomer op de Sloveense markt (opgericht in 2007, 10 hectaren) – produceert prachtige witte wijnen, geteeld op de hellingen van de Jeruzalem-Ormož-heuvels (noordoosten van Slovenië, nabij de grens met Hongarije en Kroatië). Heldere, licht gele kleur met groene schakeringen en een schitterende luminositeit. Ongelooflijk explosieve neus met aroma’s van witte perzik, groene appel, brandnetels, vers gemaaid gras, pompelmoes en een hint van rabarber. Een pittige en elegante wijn met overvloedig fruit van stekelbes en passievruchten, ondersteund door een verfrissende aciditeit en een levendige mineraliteit. Goede diepgang en een aantrekkelijke, kruidige afdronk. Uitstekend te combineren met asperges-gerechten. Een zeer aangename verrassing en een dito prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Te drinken: nu tot 2013.
