Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 3 hours. This is one that had been sitting around for awhile and it seemed like it was never quite the right time. Well, after not seeing my eldest for over a year and half, this trip fishing with my wife, son and dad proved to be the perfect occasion. A nice burst of Howell Mountain wild berry fruit greats you on the nose; menthol, Black and blue mountain wild berries, huckcleberry pie, blueberry tart. The palate reminds me of the fruit of forest pies up at Northwoods Cafe in Beaver Bay, black currants, huckleberry, boysenberry, wild black raspberry; menthol, ground tobacco, dried wood, dense and velvety, dusty tannins, great spice notes on the finish. Really drinking great. Another winner for my dad too, and just super with our prime tenderloins. 93+ to 94pts.

Really good. Big fruit with earthy tannins falling out, but still a bit of licorice, menthol and acid to balance. Has aged well.

Smooth CA cab coming of age. Intriguing red fruit with spice and tannins to still hold on to.
