  Brunello di Montalcino tasting (at my home): lowered shoulder 3 hours prior to the tasting.
  excellent Brunello by all aspects of aromas and flavors, balance, acidity, tannins, complexity.
  seems at peak now ad during the coming few years.
  drink now or age further.

  Plenty of sweet dried fruit, cherries, orange, notes of spices. Good acidity and almost fully resolved tannins. A bit too mature for my taste but very good! I see no further upside from here on. Went great with risotto.

  I had assumed that I would be blind tasted on Bordeaux and immediately gravitated toward 1982 right bank for all of the red and black cherry, carob, nutty, and slightly savory elements with a super silky tannic structure. This really is the whole package, sitting at a pretty much perfect place in its evolution.
