  • An utterly sublime bottle and very atypical St Emilion. More of a mid-weight wine with everything in perfect proportion. Pure silk on the palate, with fragrant dark and blue fruits, minerals, toasty oak notes and wonderful inner mouth perfume. Long mouthwatering finish that pulls you in for more. Absolute class. This wine is not easy to find as only a few hundred cases were produced. I will not hesitate to grab any bottles I may come across in future as it is that good.

  • This was a beauty of a wine. In a dazzling light to medium body, this wine sparkles like a jewel in the glass and exudes elegance, far from the beaten path in Saint Emilion. I would have never guessed this as a Saint Emilion and would have never ever pegged it as a 2009. Really sexy and dry, this smelled like a Howell Mountain blend of sweet mountain fruit but foolingly hiding a sexy and very dry and light footed wine with a very long and coarse finish. I’ll be looking for more of this…Saint emilion producers should seek this out, sip, and be inspired. Drink in this perfection

  • My last of these. Beautifully proportioned, has a smoky aspect that is so well-integrated. Showing the beaty of this decadent vintage along with all the age. 95+pts.

  • Wonderful as always. Rich dark fruit, enticing.

  • Similar to previous if missing a slight bit of x-factor compared to the others. This always strikes me as an '09 now firing on all cylinders. It's rich, hedonistic, classy, but beams of dark fruit along with lovely structure. This was about $92 after tax and shipping and what a gem it is at that price; worth every penny.
