Mediun depth cherry red colour, clear meniscus, elegant, mature fruity bouquet (Bilberry and black cherry). Palate is quite firmly tannic with dried fruit and stylish acidity and long leathery aftertaste. A well balanced stylish wine that needs a rich stew for maximum enjoyment.

Garnet with orange tinted rim. From the start this bottle, cellared at textbook conditions since release, showed scents of coffee, dark berries, minty notes, herbs, licorice and garrigue. On the palate it is well poised with smooth but still present tannin showing good balancing acidity as well and flavors of figs and cherries adding to the mentioned above notes. Long aftertaste. It's a pity that there were so many flawed bottles of this out there probably because of bad storage in transit or whatever. Optimal stored bottles of this can be cellared for another 5 years to a decade. 5/13/18/9, -2029

With the Tour de France TV helicopters showing great shots of the Dentelles de Montmirail and the new vineyards carved out of the high hillsides we had to pop some Gigondas for the evening Tour viewing session. Bottle #1 hopelessly oxidized, bottle #2 was in fine shape. Tannins still a touch off but the formerly obvious oak has largely resolved. Won't rush to finish the remaining bottles but this is probably at its peak.

Not as bad as I expected. Good structure, well contained. Dark-fruited with tobacco notes, a hint of wood. Bordeaux meets Gigondas. Not my style, but this is quite all right.

Rich ripe and smoky, tannins nicely resolved. Will be sure to open remaining bottles in next 2 years.
