Spicy and balanced nose of ripe cherries and fresh figs, eucalyptus, char-grilled meat and a touch of barnyard. Very attractive bouquet. Palate is clean and lively with good amount of red fruits and spicy notes from entry to finish. Not heavy at all, the elements are held together with soft acid and chalky tannins. Need more time in the bottle for the wine to achieve better harmony and refinement. After 2 hours in the decanter, the mid-palate is richer with peppery spices and soft plummy fruits as the wine opened more. Let the wine age for another 3-5 years before tasting it.
Retasted Oct 2022 and Jun 2023. Spicy, powerful and full of minerality with a touch of ripe fruits. Lively and savoury palate. More depth than before but can develop further. Decant for 30 mins before drinking. No change in score.

Winery Visit; Santa Duc, Gigondas, Rhône, France.: This wine is made of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre. The oldest Grenache vine are form 1901 and the Mourvedre is 65 years old. In the bouquet beautiful garrigue and dark berry fruits. On the palate ripe red and dark forest fruits, good oak, very tasty and beautiful acidity and tannin. Beautiful wine. 90 – 91+ for now.
