Garnet ruby colored, medium full bodied, black berry, black cherry plum fruits with notes of clove, mocha, smoke, game and baking spices turning to a layer of oak on the dry tannin finish.
I have only tried the 2004 Double Diamond Mayacamas Range, and it was quite incredible, with that said I had high expectations for this wine. Double Diamond is the second label of Schrader Cellars and made by Thomas River Brown whom I would love to try out more of his wines! The color was a garnet red, closer to brick and extremely cloudy. I don't know if this was flawed or not. In the nose it was just brandy and prunes. On the palate it was just moderate to light tannins with a light body. Maybe age has taken its toll but not sure due to the cloudiness. Maybe better luck next time.

Dark and brooding in the glass. LeatherY and vanilla aromas on the nose. Surprisingly medium bodied and fruit forward. Medium tannins. Overall a good QPR.

Very dark in the glass. Nose of herbs, molasses, dark cherries and some cardamom. Well balanced and structured on the palate. Juicy and rich, with enough tannin to carry it through. The fruit feels a bit past its prime on the finish. But all in all, good drinking.

Very cloudy and that was disappointing. Hopefully this is just a damaged or flawed bottle for me.
Light prunes and a mellow balanced body. Will retaste tomorrow. Hint of acidity in the finish.
This did not do well with more air and decanting. Started to show age quiet quickly and scored deteriorated towards 85/84. Maybe even lower
