So much there. Decanted it and drank over 3 hours. It was still evolving when we finished it. Really incredible wine. What started as dark red cherry opened up to reveal layers of orange, star anise, and black tea. The palate was magic. So fresh with great lift from the acidity and a beautiful finish. Black tea or Earl Gray were popping at the end. Drank this head to head with première cru Burgundy from Santenay. It’s every bit as elegant and refined. Will hold my second bottle until 2027 (at least).

This is an interesting, off the beaten path red. Savory nose—desert plants or wild herbs. Less generous with the fruit, which fell somewhere on the dark red side of the spectrum for me. Structure for days. Integrated well in the decanter after an hour. But this has a lot of grippy tannins still and a medium acid.

The nose felt really oxidative. Cooked pear, almond. The palate was very rich and round with flavors of pineapple and cream. Lengthy finish. Did I let it go too long?
