2016 Petroni Rosso di Sonoma

Nose: On the nose, the 2016 Petroni Rosso di Sonoma reveals an enticing bouquet. Aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, and currants intermingle with subtle floral notes.
Palate: This wine is somewhat rugged, with edgy tannins that provide structure. However, it’s also very flavorful, making it an excellent companion for Italian-inspired pasta dishes. The blend of Sangiovese, Syrah, and a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon creates a dry and tart profile. Blackberry, cherry, and currant flavors dominate the palate, leading to a lingering finish.
Overall Impression: The 2016 Petroni Rosso di Sonoma strikes a balance between rustic charm and vibrant fruit. It's drinking fantastic now. I wouldn't hold it much longer.
Score: I’d rate this wine at 91 points. It offers good quality for the price.

A definite improvement after two years. Tannins have com alive, but all-in-all a balanced, smooth cabernet. Drank at a party so didn't take detailed notes. But a noticeable improvement in time.
