Buried in cellar since 2011. Youthful, bold and drying tannin. Fruit takes a back seat but it’s plush and evolving in the glass. Brambly fruit, some mature black currants. Tons of minerality. Could use another 5+ years.

Followed over two nights. PnP was funky and bretty, in an enjoyable way that added excitement. The palate seemed somewhat light and simple compared to the nose but was pleasant. Wasn't expecting much on night two.
Night two it gained weight and showed tremendous depth. The brettiness was gone and allowed the rustic syrah black and red fruit with minerally finish to shine through. Really great wine for the price and clearly not even at peak.

From PnP, the first impression is a bursting fresh blackberry, with full tannin and pucker. It only lasts for this first sip, and quickly settles into a more refined and balanced expression of traditional bordeaux - clean acid on the entry, leading to velvety black and red fruit that lingers as mineral elements like graphite round out the finish. I'd have a tough time pegging this as napa if I didn't know what it was already. Saved a glass for night 2....
