Had along with a Barolo to go with a rabbit, rosemary, olive stew. Delicious. I couldn't add much to what steffenpelz and redknife had to say below. If you're used to "shiraz" or Washington/California syrah, this won't be your cup of tea. But it's a benchmark Hermitage for me.

Drank a magnum of this with Thanksgiving dinner and have been thinking about it ever since. I had bright cranberry/rasberry notes on the nose with a background of wet forest floor and a bright, lithe taste that danced with acidity and berry flavors. I'd agree with the previous taster's notes. Such good stuff.

Beautiful bottle after a couple hours in the decanter. On opening had a bright, berry nose that reminded me of Chambolle but was a little thin and reticent going down. After decanting the nose developed complexity with a little forest underbrush, wet cement, red berries and currant. Going down it developed a lovely body that again reminded me of good Burgundy, fresh acidity and just a hint of tannin around the edges. Let it breathe and be surprised.
