Subtle nose at first, high notes, cherry, blood orange, lavender, followed by dark fruits. Palate balanced right out of the bottle, but fruit and aromatics still hiding behind a strong tannic backbone. Very long finish. Palate opened over the course of 2 hours into many layers of jammy but dry, balanced fruits, blueberries, cinnamon, ginger, lemon, and vanilla. Opulent, smooth, and absolutely delicious. Drinking very well now but will almost certainly be 95+ with a couple years of aging.

Subdued nose of barnyard, tobacco, and dark fruit. Immediately after opening, lean, medium body with notes of hay, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, strawberry, and lemon peel. The finish is long and dry. Precise but soft tannins. After 2-hour decant, a rich bouquet, fresh juicy fruits, leather, a bit of funk and well-balanced tannins. Wonderfully interesting and enjoyable wine.

Tightly wound at first, but opened beautifully over a 2-hour decant. The nose blossomed first with vanilla, plum, and black currant; the palate took longer to unfold, but revealed a thick, velvety mouthfeel and layer after layer of baking spice and dark fruit. Did not take notes while drinking the bottle last week, so I’m attempting to provide a description from memory. Exquisite and thoroughly enjoyable wine, excellent value.
