Acids and sugars seems to have balanced nicely before any oxidation sets in. Not sure how much better it is getting. My guess is not really. Yummy with good but not in any way searing acidity. Sweet but not heavy.

No signs of age. Nicely balanced and structured middle weight Pinot. Nice but subtle earthy burg terrior. Clean, soft and pretty if not quite gorgeous.

I don’t have a lot of experience with grand cru Pinot Gris so this wine was a bit shocking to me. Unlike the serious Pinot Grigios I’ve had minerality is not the primary descriptor. While there is good acidity it is more of a counterpoint to the luscious, ripe, nutty flavors of the wine. I don’t think it would improve with time as most fruity notes were quite muted and a little age is evident. Could the big white tannins soften while a pleasing nuttiness takes over, how I imagine a great white hermitage would?
