10/2/2020 3:58:00 AM - With regard to your conversation with Mark1npt: 8/18/2020 10:31:00 AM Pre early 2010s, you had to age your cigars and wait for them to get out of their sick period. After they were done doing that, they'd be consistently good. I have never felt the urge to age Opus X or Partagas Series D #4 although I have several over 10 years old in the humidor.

8/18/2020 11:07:00 AM - I would agree on the aging, I think they'll be good for the first 10 years once you get past the early awkward/disjointed phases that some wines can have. My worry with these big fruit bombs they are putting out now is.....what happens during the 2nd 10 year phase. It used to be a Mondavi, Inglenook or Arrowood only got better in that 2nd 10 year window. I'm just not convinced these big fruit bombs are going to play out that way and unfortunately by the time I wait 20 years for these killer '18s to get that old, I'm gonna be 82.....these wines are so good in the first 3-5 years it's very hard not to drink them all up! Funny, my B Cellars cab francs are the only CF's in my cellar that I've never touched. I am, for sure, now going to have to open one in the next week or two and try it. Thanks for the heads up on the 2 hour decant! Mark

7/31/2020 12:54:00 PM - Yw, dude.....I'm always torn with these big wines. They are usually so good on release it's hard not to drink them all. I like to age my BDX and I like the old Napa cabs aged, but somehow I just don't see these big modern fruit bombs being able to evolve like the wines of decades ago. I may be wrong, but I just don't know. I've not been impressed with 8-10 yo Carter's I've tried whereas they are killer like B Cellars on release, and in their first 2-3 years. Myriad, same thing.
