Mature, wonderfully integrated wine. Smooth on the palate. Some restrained barnyard and dark fruits, including some raspberry, on the nose and palate. The fruit gained some prominence on day 2, though this one maintained its elegance. Just a pretty wine that was very much enjoyed.

This one was nice. Had a 1.5L bottle. Popped it open, and it showed some astringency with high toned red fruit, a hint of cocoa and a bit too noticeable wood. Color was a deep, dark purple-red. Decided to use half the bottle for a beef short-ribs braise the next day. After getting some air, this really turned into a much more palatable wine. Dark cherry and berry fruit was prominent and the wood notes had faded. Still had some rich chocolaty notes but well integrated. Overall, resembled a perfectly nice WA merlot; really enjoyed the day 2 version.

Upon pop and pour, this pinot featured a primary cranberry note, red cherries and underlying herbs with some astringency on the finish. On day 2, this gained some weight and had a dark cherry and spice profile. Overall, a bit simple but in a good place to enjoy now.
