Amazing nose of little red fruits, spice box, bright red cherry, and some congested sweetness. Palate is beautiful. With high acidity if the vintage but well integrated with medium tannins to match and a long sweet finish. Both palate and nose are complex but highly primary. Seemed to open up after 5 hours. Not as stunning as the Chambertin 08 I had a couple years ago but beautiful and could develop phenomical complexity in 10 years.

Rating this a touch behind the CSJ which I loved. Was hoping for a step up in excitement but did not find it here. The wine is beautiful, with detailed Chambertin nose of pine needles, cherry and red peppers, some meceration which we noted was like caponata, which could be signs of ageing. The fruit is still extremely pure. Less intense then the CSJ, when I had it a few years ago. Could go down too smoothly and you could miss the nuances. Maybe it is just a more elegant style, or maybe going through a muted phase. Could emerge with awesome secondaries in 5-10 years. I remain optimistic!

This was really lovely tonight. Followed over six hours. After 3 it was pure sweet serralunga fruit. Nose had dark cherry but also high toned minerality. Tannins were in a good spot and the palate was not overpowering. Long finish. No rush, and this will show a lot more with time, but was delicious after long decant.
