There is still a ton of glyceral viscosity after 2 days. Lots of clear flavors however of pineapple sorbet, pear, some talc-like lime zest, but barely touches the palate with all of the viscosity. Unbelievably juicy, some early petrol detected. I do enjoy my German riesling before the petrol fully develops, but I would enjoy a bit more spritz to the fatness of fruit, which at times borders on flabby. Nitpicking, as this is still glorious overall. Long finish.

Guido nailed the descriptor. Well said. The tomato quality gives such a positive contrast to the intense fruit. This is an incredible over achiever in a sense. Still had some tannin to share.

Shows tons of vintage character. Really different than cooler vintages that tend to show brighter fruits. This is all dark, burly fruit w/ notes of dusty cocoa, classic CDPape tea-like elements, garni, smoke. Almost sinewy, but clearly young. Wonderfully earthy core finishes w/ solid acidity and sweet fruits. I would honestly prefer a 2004 (and for less $$$) to this, but this should be really exciting to see how this takes shape in several years. Prob. one of the few CDP's from this vintage I would really love.
