Quite tannic. Needs 2 hours in the decanter to smooth things down. Dark garnet in color. Hints of blue currants and vanilla on the nose, but the smoky character is not so evident. Good substance with lots of dark cherries and black berries. Medium to long finish. The quality is better than many Bordeaux first wines in the vintage, IMHO. Good value for the money!

On the nose: Black currants, iron, spices, black berries, pepper mint, very aromatic.
On the palate: Full body, bold and concentrated. Fruit pie, plum, lots of black fruits and dark cherries, little red fruits, mint, slight licorice hint. Good acidity and good balance. Structured but well integrated and round tannis. Still quite youthful.
Peak for its fruits profile but can be aged. Need at least 5 more years to develope its secondary notes
Medium finish, seems a little too short for its complexity on the palate.
Need at least 2 hr to decant, drank over 8 hrs in decanter, holding up very well.
Very good California cabs. 94 points
