PnP... and that likely did not do it any favors. We were at a local restaurant, but I still could have had them decant it. There was a very noticeable 'funk' with the initial pour. It blew off after some time in the glass, but it put my taste buds in an 'off' place and it took some time to get out of that place. Once the funk was gone (sounds like a song from the 1970s!) it was okay. Some leather, some darker red fruits, some earthiness, some pepper... just had to wait for it.
FWIW... I have my doubts about this going out to the CT suggested drinking window of 2027.

I still love this GSM blend from the folks at Alta Colina, but this one has started to lose its vibrancy - that quality that first attracted me to this wine back in the 2009 vintage. I think what I am learning is that this GSM blend shows best at 2 to 4 years after it is released.
I am going to start drinking through my 4+ year old bottles!

This is really nice entry level wine from a top flight producer! My cost was $40 and it is worth every penny of that and more.
