Found this for 24 EUR in an online shop and said okay, for that price one must give it a try.
Unfortunately, 3 hours after opening, while there's nothing really wrong with it, it confirms the rather meagre experience of our Barolo trip last year.
In the glass it looks light, with rusty tones. The scent is really nice (albeit rather simple): classical Nebbiolo with just a touch of wood.
In taste, this is decent and nice, but nothing more. Medium intensity, rather simple as it is, and very little aftertaste.
This is a simple, Tuesday evening-wine. Looking at e.g. Montalcino, this is the quality and general class of a slightly below-average Rosso di Montalcino. Lightyears from a Brunello.
But in Piemonte, this bears the highest designation possible and that doesn't feel right. I'd expect a regular, plain Nebbiolo which costs 12, maybe 14 EUR, to be like this (of course most regular Nebbiolos cost way more than 12-14 EUR and are much worse than this).
So, alas, 24 EUR is way too much for what it is; qualitywise we are in 10-15 EUR territory here -- and I'm struggling to understand why the market is prepared to pay these prices for the Nebbiolos.

One more bottle and again I liked it very much. Much but quality oak, nice classical pinot flavours, excellent balance. A wine that gets drunk quickly.

Mesmerizingly beautiful - this is Mosel and dessert wine at its best. Endless content and intensity, lead by apricot, but also pears, pineapple, mango and a hint of ginger. Wonderful balance and a never ending aftertaste.
What a treat. Wow.
