Pnp. Bottle not stored well. Muted at first but gradually opened and continuously evolved at an impressive pace. Tasted like toothpaste at one point. It's tasting old but not dead.

I scored this based on the vibrancy remaining in this wine. A nice mix of fresh and dried fruits intermingled with some pleasant earthy cedar, leather and soil but it retains lively acidity and still present tannin. Very nice.

Decanted for ~30min but did not let the bottle stand before as usual. Color is slightly cloudy dark purple - prob from the fine sediment. Beautiful aromas of blueberry, plum, cassis, leather, hints of mint, earthy loam, cigar and cedar. The palate follows with a surprisingly bright blueberry, tart plums, cassis, cigar, a bit of tar, earth, leather and a mint component toward the back end. Moderate length finish with more tar, leather, mint, and minerals. Gained some weight as the night went on but still light stepped, smooth, and elegant. 13%abv

Beautiful nearly transparent ruby-garnet color. Initially reticent aromas with a bit of cassis, dark fruit and just a hint of earth. On the palate, ripe blackberries, cherries, earth, loam and graphite. Medium bodied with lightness from the good acidity. Nice finish which slowly fades away. After >30 in in decanter, aromas of earth, dark bitter chocolate and mushrooms emerge amongst the fruit aromas. Palate is a bit richer and definitely deeper with blackberries, dark unsweetened chocolate, earth, mushrooms and graphite. Elegant and subtle but not flabby. This is ready to drink and maybe starting downhill.

This bottle had great color and still had a nice tannic structure, but was had extreme black pepper aromas and flavors. Very different from previous two bottles of this.

A little tart and disjointed on opening, but over the evening this came together very nicely. No noticeable oak, vanilla or chocolate, just red fruit and nice tannins. A very good buy from K&L recently.
Opened at party at house organized by Wetrock.

After an hour, a bit more muddled - acid more apparent and more vegetal. Still a nice bottle, but didn't compare to the two we tried earlier the same evening.

Very nice. Well developed with classic older cabernet aromas and flavors. Still fresh with a good core of fruit. Not a wine of incredible concentration, but very elegant and food friendly.

Nose was almost absent. On the palate, some blueberry and cinnamon, but really not much complexity. Tannins are virtually gone. Lots of alcohol on the finish. Not really an age-worthy wine, and has long since peaked. Decant for at least 4 hours.

Decanted for about 3 hours. Even after placing into our glasses, it was a bit sharp, tanniny, and seemed like it would not be a pleasant experience. After another 15 minutes, it turned into an elegant wine - still discernable tannins, great fruits, and well balanced. I am certain where I purchased it (Sam's Wine) doesn't have any more, but if they did, I would be running for it!

Not a great wine by any means, but the bottle age sure makes it better than average. Like the man said not too complicated. The dust is coming through nicely and there is still some fruit. Very enjoyable for a pre-Christmas dinner. Let the bottle breath from 4 to 6:30 then decanted. I was glad the kids didn't really want more than a glass....

Very nice wine - not too complicated, but has a nice earthy flavor with good fruit behind. Age on the bottle is nice - has a bit of gamy flavor coming through, which is very nice. Enjoyed this bottle - can't decide if it's worth the price.

Taken to Randy & Laura's. Opened and not decanted. Ruby color, turning pink at the rim. Notes of cassis, eucalyptus, mint and sage. Tart cherry fruit, mixed with blackberry and cassis flavors. Still slightly tannic, it has enough structure to last a while yet, but I doubt it will get much better.

Bouquet was smooth with great cab aromas. Great weight and lasting fruit. Best 20 year Napa cab I have tasted in a long time. Entire party agreed.

Just past its prime. Rich body with medium finish. Had the good fortune to enjoy this with a 1994 as well. Nice mini vertical.

Surprisingly good but lacking some backbone. Finishes too ripe. Fades fast. Do not decant.

Very oaky nose.
Vanilla, wood, bell pepper up front
Current/cassis middle
