Wife opened for me as a blind PNP. While I was on a zoom meeting. The nose jumped out of the glass as she sat it off camera a couple of feet away.
The nose had great fruit and herbal notes. The glass had a nice amber color around the rim representing some age (or maybe merlot dominant). But the fruit was so fresh for a wine with age. It was clearly ripe and high in alcohol but nicely balanced with good acidity and just fabulous with a wonder multi layered pallete and long finish.
I was surprised at the reveal but we measured each oz out to ensure an even distribution of a delicious wine. I love a cab franc. But didn’t “guess” it.

Wow, really enjoyed this one. There was some sweetness on the nose that came across as maybe candied plums or plum preserves. Really well balanced at this point. High alcohol but wouldn't guess it.

This has been a surprisingly wonderful bottle. The fruitiness and hint of sweet as at the beginning gives way to an exceptional red with no bitterness or overbearing dryness. Bought this wine at the winery in '08 and have kept it in a wine cellar since. Great wine, wish I had more.

- Garnet color - Drinking fabulously right now. Wish I bought a case. 16.5% alcohol is hardly noticeable. Chocolate, coffee, earthy and a little sweetness permeate throughout. Delicious wine.

Big, lush and fruit forward. A bit sweeter than I origanlly remember it to be. Tannins and acid nicely integrated. Long satisfying finish. No rush to drink this big guy yet.

I loved this wine at the winery, and it just didn't hold up back at home. It's just waaaay over the top, I love the attributes from the oak on the nose - milk chocolate, coffee, sweet fruit, tons of toasty oak. But drinking this wine is tough - the alcohol is totally over the top and out of balance. The finish is as if I just took a shot of brandy - way too hot and quite sweet. This could serve as dessert wine, and I like the flavors, but it's just way too much for me.

Decanted and consumed over two hours. What seemed like good underlying material was overshadowed by far too much sweetness.

This bottle never really came around or opened up after decanting. Hoping it isn't past its prime with one bottle left.

Great balance. Dark fruit. 1 hour decant. Silky mouthfeel. Very nice 30 second finish.
