A very nice surprise for a 14 year old California sparkler. Plenty of fruit and freshness in the glass. Balanced acidity and just a hint of age on the nose.

New Years Eve toast. Nose: Pear, green apple, and buttered bread. Palate: Nice sweet citrus attack, minerals offset sweetness nicely. Finish: Medium-plus length, dominated by citrus flavors.

Very good and easy to drink. Slightly Tart like lemon curd but balanced out well with nuttiness and a light scent of baked bread. Good acidity and freshness. Schramsberg shows, even in one if their 'basic' sparkling wines, why they are the choice at state/White House dinners. Recommended.

Fresh nose with pee and green apple and some freshly baked bread. Also some lemon-water. The palate is like a sweet yellow lemon soda. Quite sweet but slightly bitter mid-palate. Fairly short aftertaste with some acidity that adds some balance. Initially, the guess would be a "real" Champagne but after some time it get a little flabby and overly sweet that destroys the overall impression However, not a bad effort.

Flavours ripe apple, biscuit, dough, lemon and slate are nicely integrated. Finish is medium in length and shows good integration but is not as complex as the palate. Nice sparkler. Well made

Light straw color and very lively mousse. Mellow roasted nut on the nose with a touch of banana bread. Good texture and grip to the palate but a little more meat on the bone could be warranted at this price level. Excellent overall feel in the mouth with a medium length finish. Apple, pear, and citrus simplicity but I'm looking for more to gab about. 90-ish

(13.8%) 90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay – A long time favorite I opened this one to celebrate the recent Green Bay Packer’s Super Bowl win and I was not disappointed. Yeasty nose with crisp peach notes. A nice, creamy mousse greets you on a dry palate with green apple and lime flavors. Hints of white raspberry add a tad of sweetness to the acidity on a crisp, toasty, bubbly finish that lasts nicely. Load up on this one if you can!

Schramsberg Tasting (K&L Wine Merchants, San Francisco, CA): 90% pinot noir, 10% chardonnay. My 2nd favorite of the Schramsberg flight. On the nose, great yeast, mustiness, chalky minerality. On the palate, peaches, very creamy mouthfeel, really long finish. Beautiful effort.

Based upon my girlfriends taste. She likes this inexpensive bottle better than Dom P. Well saves me plenty :-). Nice nose of apricots, peach and pear. Excellent mouth feel and enough sweetness on the finish to have me asking for more. As Blanc d Blancs go I think I prefer a Cramant but this was very enjoyable. Keep in mind I'm still drugging my way through the world of Sparkling wines and Champagnes so take what I say with a grain of salt. Worth it at the price point.

Reading the descriptions on CT I was expecting something really over the top. I was extremely pleased to find this wine to be quite delicious. The nose was on yellow fruit (dried apricots, gooseberries) and a bit of cinnamon. Quite expressive. The wine was also delicious on the palate, not as expressive as the nose but quite good. The bubbles were clean and the acidity quite refreshing. Good wine.

Notes of gingerbread on the nose, butterscotch. This is complex: very ripe upfront, white peach flavors, Granny Smith apples, and then the acidity takes over on the finish, which also tastes a bit like gooseberries. Quite compelling.
