Many thought this wine was past its time, so when I saw those notes, I made a point of drinking this wine this week. I was totally surprised to find the wine excellent!! I thought it had a lovely aroma of plums and berries, and the tannins were silky smooth.
I had purchased my bottle directly from the winery and it has been stored carefully ever since. Not sure if that has made a difference, but it was still an excellent zin.

This wine has peaked and its on the downside, losing some of its fruit. Tasting more alcohol less fruit. Still drinkable with decanting but drink ASAP.

Bright nose opened to the almost tart strawberry and raspberry. Mid-palate was continues the somewhat tart experience with tannins rounding out the just balanced finish. Perhaps should have opened last year? Decanted an hour and enjoyed with homemade pizza. Would drink another if it were on sale...

Nice ripe cherry, some smoke and cocoa, nice big mouthful. Tannins are probably more noticeable on the finish than I would have expected from a zin. Not the best Merry Edwards wine, but definitely a well made wine that is very enjoyable.

An almost well-balanced wine that was just a bit hot and masked the really bright fruit that we got a hint of. Very nice red fruit on the nose and on the taste buds .

Very closed at first; needed 45-60 minutes or more to open up; became a dense, chewy, nearly impenetrable wine yet still with a lot of character; lots of acidity, strong black cherry and red plum flavors plus coffee and chocolate on the mid-palate; alcoholic nose; better with food but probably best with very specific pairings; overall a good wine but not worth $40+ (maybe $25)

Nice nose of dark fruit. Blackberries and vanilla. I'm a big Merry Edwards fan so I wanted to try this. It did not disappoint. Went great with food and later without.

Over the hill, but was okay. Some sweetness helped keep the overly stewed fruits at bay. Ripe but not insanely jammy, for a zin. Not delicate either.

Not as good as the last bottle. This one seems heavy on the alcohol.
