On the lighter ride of classic claret, but still youngish with good fruit and plenty of tannin. Just beginning to show the flavour profile of mature Bordeaux, but will certainly continue to improve.

Medium garnet. Nose started with a lot of barnyard and tree bark funk, but the red flowers and red cherry emerge in minutes, as well as a rich herbal feel. The flavours as well, opens in minutes to show red cherry, and blackberry as well as florals and roasted peppers, in the backdrop of grippy tannins. For over 2 hours, the flavours alternated between floral and herbal. Quite a good length, and good complexity

Very nice. Still dark hued and drinking relatively young. Overshadowed by 1966 Brane Cantenac drunk at same dinner, and not as complex as the 1985 Batailley but still nothing to sneeze at. Drink or hold.

In the neck -level, beautiful pristine bottle from P.Wylie. Classic mature claret nose. Decanted for 2 hours and after that opened up beautifully during 3 hours of tasting. Very enjoyable, multiple layers of taste. By far the best wine of the tasting, quite contrary to expectations. Outshined -85 Beychevlle, Gruaud Larose and Lynch-Bages. No way this wine is empty, dry or fading away -judging by this bottle. Looking at previous tasting notes makes me think that perhaps I had an exceptionally good one.

From a split. Lovely nose, but empty on the palate. Definitely missed the drinking window, but it was still an interesting wine. Maybe a bottle or large format would have survived better.

Exciting, sexy, and stinky nose showed immediately upon decanting and then remained. The wine evolved through the evening and paired playfully with grilled bavette steak bordelais. There's plenty of fruit and life in this wine, though it was driven by other elements: mushrooms and spices; iron and dirt; hints of sharp cheddar.

Dark, with good fruit, a bit of vanilla and basically still young. Should improve for years, at least based on this bottle.

Perfect bottle: Taste of black currant, spices, lots of power in the taste and long aftertaste.
Very good!

This wine was tasted as part of a bigger Bordeaux tasting, so the note might be a little bit short:
cherry red, smells of pencil lead, smooth in the mouth, light body, nice residual sugar, but a rather short finish

Fragrant fungus. A little bit of spicy with fungus. Short to medium finish. Medium acid. Light body.

From magnum. Really impressive on the nose, green bell peppers, but on the palate a bit dry, tart.

Nose of earth, leather and tobacco. The fruit has pretty much dried up here but still interesting to drink. Thin with a short finish. Drink up.

This wine was light in color and taste. No off-tones or flavors, just past the time to drink up.

Mature appearance, garnet center. Mature complex bouquet. But way too lean and tannic.
