Better in the year since last sampled. It's come together much more than last year. Missing some of the fruit that better Carignanes display. Still, pleasant to drink with a meal.

PnP. Nose of sun-baked dust, white pepper, and green peppercorns. Nice tang of rustic purple fruits backed by acidity, fresh herbs, mild astringency, and wet earth. Peppery finish with plum then a flash of flint and minerals before rounded, lengthy tannins, aged oak, and a touch of sourness. Has an unusual character that's hard to define but keeps you coming back for more. Ready now.

Deep ruby. On the nose aromas of redcurrants, , dried herbs, meat, blackberry bramble, mint, vanilla. On the palate the wine is dry with medium plus acidity, medium plus fine grippy tannins, high alcohol and medium plus body. The flavor intensity is medium plus with redcurrants, dried herbs, meat, blackberry bramble, mint, vanilla, cigar box, cedar. The finish is medium with primarily black fruit and cedar. The wine feels rustic but has complexity and the acids/tannins are balanced and the high alcohol is well integrated with the fruit nature. Particularly interesting wine demonstrating oak, fruits, and rustic in texture. Good QPR.

Lots of dense, dark berry fruit and garrigue aromas ooze from the glass. Needed a day or two of opening to resolve the dry, gritty tannins. It was awash in smokey, savory flavors of graphite, minerals, bay leaf, and licorice after that. Plenty of zesty acids keeping it fresh. Solid, perhaps a touch unspectacular without some further maturity.

Strong Chilean terroir markers up front...and then the wine turns stunning. It drinks like the Carignan wines of Parmi from Priorat. Interesting! 92-93.

Good carignan. I like the 2016 more. Still has aging potential. Good any day wine

Pronounced Nose... High Acid... Slightly Vegital... Gets better as it opens... Be patient.
